Visiting Music City- Nashville, Tennessee

We recently made a trip down south to visit the Music City- Nashville, Tennessee. We stayed at the Germantown Inn which was located just a short walk away from the main strip of Broadway where most of the bars and live music are located.

The Germantown Inn was constructed in one of the oldest buildings in Nashville and transformed into a 6 suite luxury boutique inn. Our guest room featured charming decor, high ceilings, a huge bathroom, and the most comfortable bed you’ll ever sleep in. Aside from the room, what we enjoyed most about our stay was the cocktail hour on the patio and the delicious breakfast served every morning.

For activities, we would recommend taking a walk from the hotel to Broadway. During the walk, you will pass by the BicentennialCapitol Mall State Park. In addition to great views, the park is filled with monuments and history about Nashville and Tennessee. Further along your walk, you will be able to capture great photos of the Capitol building.

Once you’ve reached Broadway, get your dancing shoes warmed up because Nashville is renowned for its live music scene. Nearly every single restaurant and bar has a live band and artists playing. While Nashville is known for its country music, we found most of the musicians played a wide spectrum of classic rock to country to Today’s hits, so there was something for all music lovers to enjoy. Two of the signature bars we recommend checking out are Tootsies and the Honky Tonk. Looking for a more laid back vibe? Check out Skulls Rainbow Room, a speakeasy style lounge, for delicious cocktails.

For dining recommendations, we really enjoyed The Southern which served authentic southern comfort food and Martin's Bar-B-Que, for the best barbecue in town. For breakfast, be sure to head down to the Gulch, to check out Biscuit Love for a meal you’ll never forget. We recommend arriving before 8am on the weekends to avoid long lines. And don’t forget to get a photo with the street art located on 230 11th Ave S.

A must see attraction during your stay in Nashville is the Country Music Hall of Fame. You’ll leave with an education on country music history, from past to present, along with a lot of great photos.  For other daytime activities check out Nelson's Green Brier Distillery and Bearded Iris Brewing.

Nashville is definitely a city we will be visiting again!
