We recently made a trip down south to visit the Music City- Nashville, Tennessee. We stayed at the Germantown Inn which was located just a short walk away from the main strip of Broadway where most of the bars and live music are located.  The Germantown Inn was constructed in one of the oldest buildings in Nashville and transformed into a 6 suite luxury boutique inn. Our guest room featured charming decor, high ceilings, a huge bathroom, and the most comfortable bed you’ll ever sleep in. Aside from the room, what we enjoyed most about our stay was the cocktail hour on the patio and the delicious breakfast served every morning.  For activities, we would recommend taking a walk from the hotel to Broadway. During the walk, you will pass by the BicentennialCapitol Mall State Park . In addition to great views, the park is filled with monuments and history about Nashville and Tennessee. Kennebunkport, Maine is  the perfect New England small town. With beautiful beaches, delicious eats, shops, and sweeping coastal views, it's one of our top picks for a New England weekend getaway. It's also less than a 2 hour drive from Boston. We made our way up Friday around noon and by 2pm we were enjoying a beautiful day by the ocean. We stayed at the Yachtsman Hotel & Marina Club for the weekend. The bungalow rooms are all situated right on the Kennebunkport river channel that leads to the open ocean. From our room and patio we were able to enjoy great views of the water and boats passing by. All of the rooms are newly remodeled with high ceilings, shiplap walls, and boutique style furnishings and decor. This past weekend we headed up to Stowe, VT for one of the most unique events we’ve ever attended – the 32 nd annual Stoweflake Hot Air Balloon Festival. The event is hosted by the Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa , on one of the large fiends on the property. Over 25 balloons launch at once in front of a crowd of local and tourists over the Green Mountains. One of the most challenging aspects to hot air balloon flights is the weather. The winds need to be really light and the temperature mild to ensure safety and the perfect flight. Luckily we were blessed with the perfect conditions and were able to watch flights on both Saturday morning and evening. It was amazing how close you could get to the balloons taking off. The myriad of colors and designs made for a majestic site soaring over the town of Stowe.
