Ice Castles- Lincoln, NH

Outdoor travel is limited during the winter, and staying indoors can sometimes be the more preferred option by most.  But we have something for you guys that is absolutely worth putting on your snow pants for and getting outdoors!


Every year New Hampshire hosts the Ice Castle exhibit which is more than just a few ice sculptures on display. The Ice Castle is constructed by hand starting in November and will stay open from January through March (weather permitting).  There are several other castles scattered around the U.S. in areas like Utah, Vermont and Minnesota.  What’s fascinating about each of these locations, is that all of the Ice Castles are made entirely of ice, approximately 30,000,000 pounds worth!


The acre-sized Ice Castle opened up this year in Lincoln, New Hampshire.  Our photos are from last year’s exhibit at Loon Mountain.  Not only are the Ice Castles amazing to look at, they also have tunnels, hidden rooms, slides, and other fun, interactive features.  They are especially awesome at night, when the colorful LED lights are most vibrant, adding even more oohs & aahs to your Ice Castle adventure.

As you can imagine, these locations get packed over the weekends.  So we suggest you buy your tickets in advance.  There’s also a chance you can catch a deal on sites like Living Social and Groupon.  Be sure to add this one to your bucket list this winter!

Baby Beach is a great day-trip to make if you've rented a car in Aruba. It’s located on the southern tip of the island in San Nicolas.  Baby Beach gets its name from the tranquil cove of water that surrounds the beach being so calm that even young children are safe to swim in it. The drive down from the hotel area takes around 40 minutes. It’s a fun ride down stopping at the shops in Oranjestad or checking out one of the more local restaurants once you get south of the airport. Directions in Aruba are pretty easy to follow. Wessagusset Beach- North Weymouth, MA

Although Summer is already over, we still enjoy going to the beach.  One of our favorite and also most convenient locations is Wessagusset Beach in North Weymouth.  The stone wall of the beach runs along Fort Points Road where you'll find a small cove, with parking as well.   The beach is relative small and very rocky, so you probably won't find yourself walking barefoot in the sand.  However it is the perfect beach to catch some rays, otherwise enjoy the sunset. With Wessagusset Yacht Club  close by, you will always see a few boats out in the water. Snapper Blue The beach is also an attraction for some fisherman with striper and bluefish along the shores.  But rumor has it that fishing has been slow this year. Our favorite part about this beach is that it faces west overlooking the Boston skyline.  So we've seen a few amazing sunsets and views from Wessagusset.  Here are some of many more to come! Experiencing Boston Sky High- The Skywalk Observatory

In planning our weekend adventures, we often overlook the abundance of places we have yet to visit in one of America's largest and most historical cities, Boston, MA.  All too often we turn a blind eye to Boston's many amazing attractions while immersing ourselves in daily routines.  However, we found that being tourists in our own city, has lead to some of our best travel experiences!  That including our recent invitation this past weekend to tour Boston's only 360 degree view of the city skyline at the Skywalk Observatory . Located 52 floors up in Boston's Prudential Center , the Skywalk arguably has the city's most picturesque panoramas.  The observatory is open 7 days a week between 10 am and 8 pm (in the Summer it stays open later until 10 pm) with admission being $17 per adult.  We timed our visit for 4 pm so we could catch the sunset over the city.  Friends- Samantha and Jordan at the Skywalk Observatory Aside from just the views, th
